Hjelmås, Norway The Norwegian countryside is something truly amazing to experience. Towering mountains, beautiful fjords and over 450,000 lakes to enjoy make the landscape a photographers dream. On top of this, the golden hours of light are much longer than in many other places due to the longitude of the country. Image Code: A051
Zion National Park, Utah It is funny that, regardless of how hard landscape photographers struggle to keep everything in focus, sometimes a lack of focus can add so much drama and impact to an image. This gentle wildflower in Zion Canyon is a great case in point. With careful composition, an in focus background camera may have caused the image to look cluttered, thus reducing it’s uniqueness. Instead, by using a shallow depth of field, we have an elegant and simple photo that exhibits a fragile beauty among the mighty canyons. Image Code: A094
Church Rock Kayenta, Arizona Arizona sunsets are some of the most beautiful in the nation; they’re one of the reasons why I love living in this state so much. I was driving back from a photo shoot in the San Juan Mountains when I noticed the sky starting to catch fire in a really spectacular way. Since I was near Kayenta, I knew that the towering Church Rock would be a perfect addition to my composition. To capture the complete range of color tones and exposure I captured nine exposers and blended them together as an HDR in Photomatix Pro Image Code: A034
